Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are central to creating a culture of Belonging at work. In all organizations including universities, employees can achieve their full potential when they feel valued and accepted and have equitable access to resources and facilities. An inclusive organization with an accepting and diverse culture will allow the entire community to thrive, creating better outcomes and employee satisfaction and fostering a culture of innovation and success.

At Penn State, we strive to create an environment where Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) are instrumental in all that we do. From who we recruit, to the programs we develop, to the course we offer, and even our strategic plan which guides our future direction. Advancing DEIB is important to us. 

As members of the Penn State community come from every corner of the Commonwealth, almost every state in the US, and more than 140 countries around the world, to learn, grow, discover, and contribute to our land-grant mission, it’s important for our environment to be welcoming and inclusive.

We are dedicated to accepting and celebrating difference as part of our core principles in education and research, and all facets of our operations, as well as in our outreach efforts and public service, to support all members of our communities.

We are determined to take action together to create a diverse, equitable, and inclusive climate not just on our campuses, but also in every local community statewide, to make sure that employees feel they belong and have equitable access to our facilities, programs, resources, and services.
